Switzerland

Since we are so close to Switzerland, we decided to take a weekend trip there. We stayed in Lugano, a town in southern Switzerland. The hotel where we stayed was absolutely fabulous. In fact, it was so fabulous that it will get its own post...tomorrow. But for now, here are pictures of our trip. Our hotel was right on Lago di Lugano, a lake that sits in the valley among the mountains. Here is a picture of Anna swimming in the pool at the hotel. Behind her you can see the lake. The scenery was absolutely incredible!
Anna and Wade swam out to the floating dock.
On Saturday we drove into the Alps. There was still quite a bit of snow near the top. The temperature was 95 where we were, but the snow had not yet melted.

I tried to pick the best pictures to put on the blog, but it was really difficult to choose. The Alps were just so beautiful. Here are a few.

Saturday night we went into the city of Lugano for dinner. It's an interesting place. It was kind of like a kid-friendly Monaco. It was super clean, had a massive Casino and also had a carousel that the kids enjoyed.

On Sunday we had one last swim in the pool and then we headed to Monte Tamaro to take the gondola up to the top. Below is a picture of Anna in the gondola as we went over the highway. The gondola ride was really long and went over the highway before going up the mountain.

Once we got to the top the kids were pleased to find a huge play structure and a tube slide.

The view from the top.

As we were about to leave some cows came over the ridge. They were wearing their Swiss cow bells.

I think it's safe to say that we all really liked Switzerland. After spending just three days there, it's clear that we need to come back. There is much, much more to do and see.
